Sacred Heart Church offers a variety of opportunites for
parishioners to be involved in the music of their Church:
Adult Choir rehearses an hour before Mass in the Church; this
choir rotates singing at the various weekend Masses.
Funeral Choir rehearses an hour before the Mass in the Church.
They also attend the wake service at the funeral home. Persons
can be on this choir only, or on both the adult and funeral choirs.
Cantors assist at Mass and practice one hour before the Mass in
the Church.
Song Leaders assist at Masses.
Instruments, including organ and piano.

Ushers

Ushers have a deep-rooted history based in scripture and provide
a unique ministry in the Church. They are often the first person
one comes in contact with as they enter the Church, so their role
in hospitality is critical as they meet, greet, and seat church-goers
every week. General duties include seating people, distribute
worship aids, gather collections, guide communion and/or other
processions, distribute church bulletins, and handle emergencies.
Meetings conducted periodically. Ushers are scheduled on a
weekly basis and wear a white shirt with black pants (black ties
are also worn -- these are kept in the usher's room.) All men who
are at least high school age may volunteer to be an usher.

This committee began in 2004. Meetings are held in the evening as
necessary, but not more than once a month.
