Altar Servers
Altar Servers assist the priest during the Mass. All servers
must participate in a training session. Schedules are mailed
each quarter, and usually involve no more than one Mass
each month, depending on the number of servers on the
list. If interst, please call the office. Any boy or girl fourth
grade or older, who is baptized and has received the
eucharist, may become an Altar Server.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist
Lay ministers help distribute the Eucharist at weekend
Eucharist liturgies and/or at local nursing homes. Those
interested are invited to atttend an instructional meeting;
this group of lay ministers is commissioned at a ceremony
at Sacred Heart Church with a committment renewed every
year. All Eucharistic Ministers are scheduled one Mass every
three to four weeks. Requirements include: has been
baptized, received the Eucharist, been confirmed, and if
married, must be a Church recognized marriage. If

Lectors
Lectors are scheduled on a quarterly bases with a
commitment usually not more than once a month for all
Masses except the Faith Formation Mass (10:30a.m. Mass,
usually the third Sunday of each Month). All lectors receive
a workbook and should attend a training session. Lectors
read the Word of God during Masses on Holy Days,
Saturdays, and Sundays. If interested, please call the
